“GCAC...Fostering a Lasting Legacy Through Friendship and Service”

Welcome and thank you for visiting the website of the Gulf Coast Apollo (TX) Chapter (GCAC) of The Links, Incorporated!

On October 7, 1995, we became the 52nd chapter of the Western Area, and the 262nd chapter of The Links, Incorporated. The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of nearly 14,000 professional women of color in 281 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.

The Gulf Coast Apollo (TX) Chapter provides services, programs and education to the Texas Gulf Coast community to include the Clear Lake City area, and communities south to the City of Galveston. These services are provided through our five (5) facets: Services to Youth, The Arts, National Trends and Services, International Trends and Services and Health and Human Services. The Chapter contributes over 2,000 documented volunteer hours annually. During July 2016, our chapter received 1st Place National Program Award for our National Trends and Services Program, “Becoming Financially Sound & Savvy: Sister 2 Sister”, through a national sponsorship with Ally Financial.

The members of The Links, Incorporated are influential decision makers and opinion leaders. The Links, Incorporated has attracted many distinguished women who are individual achievers that have made a difference in their communities and the world. They are business and civic leaders, role models, writers, physicians, accountants, educators, consultants, mentors, homemakers, lawyers, engineers, scientists, social workers, philanthropists, nonprofit executives, theologians and volunteers. Our members are women committed to service and friendship. We are united in our desire to change lives for those who need our aid.

Thank you for viewing and enjoying our website with the great work that we are doing in our community!
